No, they’re not about to get married — they’re my dogs! Read on for how they got their perfectly hipster names! . . Ronald’s shelter name was “Harper,” also an adorable old man, hipster name… but I wanted something from Harry Potter for my first dog. He was the quietest dog of his litter, and it turned out that was because he was scared shitless of the world. He quivered on my lap the entire drive home. We went through a huge list of Harry Potter names on that drive, and nearly chose “Daedalus Diggle” (because omg a dog with the last name Diggle is too friggin cute)... but this red-haired scaredy cat could only have one patron saint: Ronald Weasley. He gave one little wiggle of his tail when I said “Ronald,” and that was it. . . Luna’s shelter name was “Lulu.” I wanted a Game of Thrones name for her, but Brett and I couldn’t land on one that sounded just right. She looked like cute-meets-crazy, though. A lot of crazy. So we had to go with Loony—er—LUNA Stormborn. She goes by Luna, Loony, Lulu, and Moony. . . This piece is my submission to this week’s #goodtypetuesday prompt: letter the names of your pets.
